In New York I visited the Holland & Sherry offices, the company that supplies my dad's fabric for the suits he makes. And they gave me a sample of the material of Leonardo DiCaprio's suit for The Great Gatsby, because they supplied that fabric. That famous pink Gatsby suit. We read the book in English class and this one girl was like "Who wears a pink suit?" I got pretty miffed, short of slapping her across her smug face. Because people wear pink suits, that's a thing. Anyway, I got really excited because I couldn't believe that I was holding a tangible symbol of a beautiful book written almost 100 years ago by the man who created Gatsby. He had no idea the book would still be popular, that people like me would be reading it, and that it would be made into a movie with technology he couldn't even dream of, and I was holding it in my hands. It was also exactly how I imagined the fabric to be, so I was happy about that choice on the costume designer's part.
*An explanation of a boring but perhaps right choice: I didn't include a picture of it in case someone wanted it to be secret, I don't want to spoil the surprise or release something that shouldn't be released.
**Boring text only post because I'd rather do that than the movie poster or book cover...
