Some men just want to watch the world burn

Karl Lagerfeld needs to leave the party while it's still full. Which it's not, but at least he can leave it while it's not completely empty.
He's been doing the same thing season after season, and it's also just ugly. It's like he sits down every season and says "Theme? Check. Tweed? Check. Shoes with a literal and gimmicky heel? Check." And then he says, "Well, now that I've got that down I don't have to try anymore because people seem to love me no matter what for some reason."
But no one says anything about it because it's Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel.
That is no excuse for this ever coming into existence and adding a blemish to the already ugly world:

Here's an article by Robin Givhan on this very subject.
And it's his response that makes me think he's pathetic.

Another repeat offender: Dolce&Gabbana
They've gotten to the point where every collection is the same just with a different theme. It's like they are trying to fool their house guests into thinking they got new furniture, but really they just repainted the tables and chairs.
Then, right when I think the already too many looks are over, they send out this little party. Please stop already. It's not fun anymore, or new, or even cute. The only thing interesting is perhaps the shock at the amount of crap that can be produced by some people.

Longer socks and a two piece, groundbreaking

Alex Fury got it right in this review, thank goodness.

There are some magazines that have been doing this, but that's for another post.
