This whole time of judging that rumor we've been looking at the simple fact that Jil Sander and Dior could not be farther from each other, or even Jil Sander and Galliano. But we've overlooked the past three (now four) of Simons' collections that explored 50's couture and put it through a plexiglass sheet.
I was skeptical of Raf at Dior, but now I hope it will happen because the creative license it would give him to explore 50's couture would be amazing. It would be a whole new direction for Dior, which excites me to the point where I feel like my insides are carbonated.
Also, Jil Sander back at Jil Sander? What better than the original who can tap into the spirit of the brand because she invented it. The only question is can she still be relevant to fashion now? She's been out for a long time, and who knows if she's been keeping up with the times (that sounded like an old lady). She probably can because she's awesome, but it's still a valid question.
Of course, I'll miss Raf Simons at Jil Sander. It was one of my favorites, but I'm okay with it. We still have his past collections, they're not going away, and he will create more beauty somewhere else. I have to suspend my nostalgia and get excited for a new chapter.

This blog looks great! While I know almost nothing about fashion, I do appreciate it greatly, as well as 50's style.
