I'm...really....sad? about this whole John Galliano happening.
On the one hand I have this feeling of resent and disappointment, what he did/said is disgusting. On the other I am blinded by my love for his work, and everything he has done and said in the past. This makes it easy to make excuses like "He was drunk, "We're all human", etc. But, they're just excuses.
At first I believed he was innocent, but now I've seen that video of him saying it. It's from the Sun, so I don't know if it's reliable. I keep hoping that somehow he really is innocent and the video is wrong.
Franca Sozzani said that this is a tragedy for humans, not just the fashion world. I agree, but I also think that it's one more thing giving the fashion world an undeserved bad rep.
It just seems so sick that a person who makes so much beauty can do something so hideous.
